Position Overview

As a Gas Leak Survey Technician, you will play a critical role in protecting communities and ensuring compliance with safety regulations by conducting field inspections of gas pipelines and infrastructure. Using specialized equipment, you’ll detect and document leaks, report findings, and help safeguard customers, property, and the environment.

This is a field-based position that requires working outdoors in varied conditions, walking long distances, and adhering to strict safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct leak surveys of gas pipelines and related infrastructure using specialized detection equipment (gas detectors, infrared cameras, etc.).
• Identify, assess, and document any leaks, damages, or hazardous conditions.
• Create accurate reports of inspection results and communicate findings to project management or utility partners.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Maintain equipment and follow company and industry safety standards at all times.

Who We’re Looking For

• Prior experience in gas leak survey, utilities, or related field preferred.
• Comfortable working independently outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Physically able to walk long distances daily, bend, crouch, and kneel as required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record and report findings.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, clean MVR, and be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Strong commitment to following safety standards and procedures.

• Field-based: Daily work performed outdoors across assigned routes.
• Varied conditions: Exposure to different weather, terrain, and environments.
• Physical activity: Requires extensive walking, bending, crouching, and equipment handling.
